Founded in August of 2023 by Emily Bearse, who was then in her junior year at Westminster Catawba Christian School, the idea started as a hobby and quickly evolved into a growing local business and media platform dedicated to supporting the people behind Rock Hill’s local economy.
Emily noticed that Rock Hill was filled with incredible small businesses, creative entrepreneurs, and exciting community events, but there wasn’t one central place highlighting them all. That realization sparked Rock Hill Shops — a page built to celebrate local businesses, spotlight community events, and connect residents and visitors with the heartbeat of Rock Hill.
What began as simple social media posts sharing favorite shops and hidden gems quickly grew into a trusted source for discovering what’s new, what’s local, and what’s happening in Rock Hill. Today, Rock Hill Shops continues to grow, helping small businesses gain visibility and appreciation throughout the community.
